Vintage Amp Restoration by Will Dyke
Armadillo’s Speciality is Vintage amp restoration and amplifier recovering.
Over the years I have restored and recovered many a hundred amp cabinets, ranging from early 1948 Fender Amps to more modern and/or boutique amplifier cabinets, wheather you fancy exotic safari animal skin or snakeskin, or you are more of a aged tweed type of person like me, I can get you the look you want, or that your cabinet deserves! I cannot give you an exact quote without seeing your cabinet in person, but most vintage amp restoration ranges $150 – $300.
Please Email for an estimate on your vintage amp restoration needs.
Here is an example of a recent restoration I did.
A 1962 Fender Brown Concert combo
1. Stripp and sand & fill the cabinet $45
2. Recover $95
3. Regrille original baffle in wheat grill $45
4. New dogbone handle $20
5. Reglue joints $10.
This job had a total of $215, I didn’t charge for all the rat turds I had to scrape out of the bottom… This amplifier was lit on fire in the back of a truck while in route to a gig before someone attempted to give it a face lift! Now it looks great, ready to please.
